Chani and the Nature of an Adaptation

Denis Villeneuve’s Chani has been a talking point among Dune fans for years now, and I felt like adding to the conversations. Book Chani and Film Chani share plenty of similarities, but most of the discourse around her character has been about the differences. I’ve noticed that some book readers, especially those who are on Facebook and Reddit, have expressed their disliking for the film version in distasteful or misogynistic ways. I don’t like that.
