Ed Santiago was introduced to electronic music and DJ'ing by his older brother at around the time he was 14. His brother was a Drum & Bass / Jungle DJ in Rochester in the early 2000's and would frequently watch and listen to him practice on vinyl. Early influences were popular electronic producers of the time such as The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Roni Size, LTJ Bukem, and many more.
Fast forward to 2007, Ed had then left active duty in the USAF and was beginning full time college at Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY). During that time, he began to dabble in Ableton Live 'digital performance' at local parties, and networking with promoters, DJ's and venue managers and soon after secured a twice a week residency at ONE Nightclub beginning New Year's Eve 2009. From that point, Ed and his colleagues began to run what was called 'Insomnia Thursday', a college-focused house and electronic music focused night. Ed's residency expanded to Saturday's upon the opening of the new state of the art 2nd floor and rooftop of ONE serving well over 1,000 patrons per night.
After setting aside DJ'ing for work to pursue a successful career in Social Media Marketing and Advertising, Ed has kept in touch with many DJ friends which have gone on to reside in all parts of the world, visiting and playing guest slots, most recently at City Lights Rooftop in Charlotte, NC.
At this time, Ed is now a remote-worker based in Fort Lauderdale and looking to re-enter the DJ and music production scene in South Florida.
Ed's stylistic influences are the sounds of Chus & Ceballos (Stereo Productions), Oscar G (Made in Miami, MURK), and other drum-heavy, latin-infused tech-house sounds (sample mix on Mixcloud). Stay tuned.
